Yemen's 'Ansar Allah' (Houthi Movement) stated on the 3rd that they intercepted a Saudi Arabian fighter jet that had entered Yemeni airspace with the aim of preventing an Iranian civilian aircraft from landing at Sanaa International Airport, the capital of Yemen.
'Ansar Allah' spokesperson Saree said in a statement on their movement-controlled Al Masirah TV channel that the Saudi fighter jet entered Yemeni airspace at around 5:20 am local time on the 3rd, attempting to stop an Iranian passenger plane carrying more than 200 passengers from landing in Sanaa. The passengers on board were injured, ill, or stranded Yemenis.
He stated that the 'Ansar Allah' air defense forces responded by launching several air defense missiles, forcing the Saudi fighter jet to leave Yemeni airspace, thereby allowing the Iranian plane to land.
Saree warned that if Saudi Arabia again violated Yemeni airspace or launched attacks on Yemen, the organization would respond comprehensively, targeting Saudi airports and other key targets.
'Ansar Allah' emphasized that despite the threats, flights between Sanaa and Tehran, the capital of Iran, would continue as scheduled. At the same time, the organization will continue its efforts to end the blockade imposed by Saudi Arabia on areas under its control.
