The Director of Enforcement for the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry, Azman, pointed out that the enforcement operation for controlled and subsidized goods, "Op Tiris 3.0," is mainly focused on seizing RON95 gasoline smuggling cases this year.

According to a report by "Buletin TV3," apart from RON95 gasoline, diesel cases are the most frequent, accounting for 734 cases.

Azman stated that after the government rationalized diesel subsidies, smuggling syndicates shifted their focus to RON95 gasoline.

"Once we started banning foreign vehicles from purchasing gasoline and diesel at gas stations, some illegal groups started using local vehicles to repeatedly buy these goods."

"When we issued orders to ban repeated purchases, they began using vehicles with enlarged fuel tanks."

He indicated that regarding the above actions, the authorities successfully carried out 636 arrests, involving not only gasoline and diesel but also other subsidized goods such as 1-kilogram subsidized cooking oil, sugar, wheat flour, and liquefied natural gas.

"From January 1 this year, a total of controlled and subsidized goods worth about 90.8 million ringgit have been seized."
