43-year-old Vincent Cheung debuted in 2000 and was once a singer, but his career failed to take off. It wasn't until 2006, when he joined TVB through an introduction by Andy Lau, that he began a 19-year journey with the station. In the early hours of the 10th, Cheung posted about his departure: “Nineteen years is really no short span! After filming my last scene, tears truly flowed uncontrollably!”
Besides Andy Lau, Cheung also thanked Gordon Lam in his message. Before joining the TVB artiste training class, Lam gave him words of wisdom that he has remembered ever since: “Nineteen years ago, Andy arranged for me to join TVB’s training class, hoping I could receive TVB’s rigorous training just like him and Gordon. I clearly remember what Gordon told me before I joined TVB: ‘Once you go in, don’t worry about anything else; just keep your head down and work, and you’ll definitely learn something!’ Indeed, by following this advice, I truly became a grounded actor after 19 years! Thank you Andy and Gordon!”
