French President Emmanuel Macron stated on the 3rd at the Élysée Palace while meeting with visiting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Europe is ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine after a peace agreement is reached between Russia and Ukraine.
He pointed out that the European side is ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine and its people "on the day a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine is reached."
Macron continued to put pressure on Russia, considering that "the current question is to see Russia's sincerity."
Zelensky stated that European unity would help increase pressure on Russia.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen recently revealed in an interview with the UK's Financial Times that a support-for-Ukraine "volunteer coalition" led by France and the UK recently held a meeting of defense ministers to discuss necessary matters concerning the formation of a multinational force, and developed "quite concrete plans." This force will be led by Europe, with numbers reaching tens of thousands, while the United States will provide support in command and control systems, intelligence, surveillance, and other aspects.
Zelensky arrived in France on the same day to attend the online meeting of the support-for-Ukraine "volunteer coalition" to be held in Paris on the 4th.
