Malaysian singer Namewee's drug case may result in acquittal!
Namewee, who was suspected of drug use and possession, was scheduled to appear at Kuala Lumpur’s 3rd and 1st Criminal Magistrates’ Courts today (18th), but was unable to attend due to being diagnosed with type A influenza. The cases will be mentioned again on the 22nd of this month and January 19th next year.
Namewee’s representing lawyer, Chong Ching Fong, applied to the court for an earlier mention and stated that he had been informed by the prosecution that his client’s test results were out and had returned negative.
He subsequently confirmed this to the media outside the court. When asked about the next steps, he said the prosecution may withdraw the case as a result.
