Iranian Foreign Ministry: Any Attack on Iran Will Be Regarded as Aggression and Bear Consequences

Published at Feb 24, 2026 09:45 am
The spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, Baghaei, stated on the 23rd that any attack on Iran will be regarded as an act of aggression and will bear corresponding consequences.

At a weekly routine press conference held in Tehran, he said that the Iranian armed forces are maintaining vigilance, and while Iran is conducting diplomatic negotiations, it is also closely monitoring the development of the situation.

He emphasized that any negotiation that imposes burdens or preset positions will not yield results. If Iran determines that the other party is using the negotiations as a means of deception, it will adopt a corresponding stance in response.

Baghaei pointed out that negotiations require both sides to make joint efforts and demonstrate sincerity. Iran is willing to engage in negotiations lasting several days or weeks, but prolonging the negotiation process “is of no benefit”. At present, Iran is formulating proposals and hopes to hold a new round of talks with the United States in the next few days.

He stated that the goal of the negotiations is to achieve results, and the Iranian people are enduring the pressure of sanctions. “Action must be taken to lift the sanctions as soon as possible.”
