On February 28th, the United States and Israel began joint airstrikes against Iran, and Iran also launched attacks on several U.S. military installations across the Middle East, igniting conflict in the region. On the 2nd, a U.S. F-15 fighter jet crashed near an American base in Kuwait, with the pilot fortunately surviving by ejecting.

Videos circulating online show the F-15 fighter circling repeatedly within Kuwaiti airspace, with altitude continually decreasing. The pilot successfully ejected and parachuted to safety, then was placed in the trunk of a small car. Visibly, he appeared unharmed.

According to CNN, the crash site was less than 10 kilometers from the U.S. Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait. The Times of Israel noted that the F-15 belonged to the U.S. military, and that one pilot successfully ejected and survived.

It is understood that the fighter jet was intercepting a missile coming from Iran over Kuwaiti airspace at the time. However, some online sources claim the jet may have been mistakenly shot down by a Patriot missile.

The surviving pilot later received assistance from local Kuwaitis.
