Former member of the girl group “NAME”, Jin Zihan, suddenly quit the entertainment industry last year. Concerns arose over her mental and physical state as she lost a lot of weight and shaved her head. Yesterday, she started a livestream but did not show her face; instead, she silently displayed a memo on her phone and used text to accuse a certain “her”. She claimed that three years ago, she was convinced to get acne anti-inflammatory shots and had 40 to 50 unknown substances injected into her face at once. Since then, she would get severe headaches whenever she “didn’t follow her ideas.” The pain would be so intense she’d want to die and would hurt herself. Another photo shockingly showed multiple scars on her arm. Jin Zihan also stated that she had been under surveillance since then. “I won’t endure this anymore. I am not your pet; I am a person.” This morning, she dropped another clue: “The main person hurting me keeps egging me on to be an actress.”
Now 27, Jin Zihan was once the 3rd runner-up and Best Talent winner at Miss Chinese USA. In 2020, she joined the talent show “Youth With You 2” as a Yuehua Entertainment trainee and ultimately ranked 11th, not making it into the final debut group, but still drew attention. She later became a member of Yuehua’s girl group “NAME”, but frequently stopped working due to health issues. During the show, she was cyberbullied for being “chubby,” later lost weight down to 49 kilograms and was criticized for being “unhealthily thin.” She found herself in a vicious cycle where she was judged no matter her size.
Last April, she abruptly announced her retirement from the industry, wiped her Weibo, and said she was “returning to her own life.” Yuehua Entertainment later confirmed it and gave their blessings. That August, she shared a photo of her shaved head on Xiaohongshu and mentioned adapting to a new life and adjusting her mental and physical state. In January this year, she suddenly blocked (blacklisted) Cai Xukun, the producer of “Youth With You 2”, accusing him of being a liar. In March, she clarified that she had been misled by some behind-the-scenes manipulator, and shared the song “Fear, Sex”, which features the lyrics “I’m sending out a distress” as a cry for help.
