Multiple popular terms are related to technological and industrial transformation
According to the introduction, the “Top 10 Popular Chinese Media Phrases of 2024” were obtained based on the National Language Resources Monitoring Corpus, utilizing language information processing technology and combining artificial post-processing extraction and screening. The corpus sources include texts from 15 mainstream Chinese newspapers (including government and local metropolitan newspapers and widely circulated evening papers), transcriptions from CCTV, Central People's Radio and 12 local TV stations and 7 radio stations, as well as all contents from 2 web portals, with a total corpus size exceeding 10 billion words.

“China Travel” showcases an open stance
Among the media's top ten popular phrases, many are related to technological and industrial transformation, including new quality productivity, artificial intelligence, low-altitude economy, future industry, and new occupations. In response to global technological competition and the need for domestic high-quality development, developing “new quality productivity” has become a new engine for accelerating Chinese-style modernization; the ever-changing “artificial intelligence” will provide a key driving force for developing new quality productivity; “low-altitude economy” is an important industry with the characteristics of new quality productivity, nurturing immense innovative vitality and market potential; and fields of “future industry,” including future information, future materials, future energy, future space, and future health, are set to lead a new wave of economic growth; with the emergence of new economies and new business models, a batch of “new occupations” like drone pilots and AI trainers are leading new employment trends, reflecting new changes in talent demand against the background of socio-economic development.

Over the past year, China's economy has continued to stabilize and improve, with consumer goods experiencing a “trade-in” boom to support high-quality economic development. Meanwhile, the doors of opening up are opening wider, especially since the implementation of the 144-hour visa-free transit policy, “China Travel” has been increasingly popular, showcasing the appeal and open stance of this eastern great nation. Additionally, education, sports, and other sectors are booming, with the National Education Conference held in Beijing, calling for the construction of a strong education nation centered around the fundamental task of “moral education”; Chinese athletes created the best overseas competition results in the “Paris Olympics,” forging Chinese glory. Moreover, on the international stage, China actively fulfills its major power responsibilities. Especially in 2024, marking the beginning of the “BRICS Cooperation,” the momentum of the Global South has significantly increased, with China consistently being an important member, promoting the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, and injecting momentum for global economic recovery and common development.
