Fatal Accident on Lachau Road Leaves One Dead, One Injured – Young Man Trapped and Killed, Woman Sent to Hospital

(Kuching, 30th) – A fatal accident occurred this morning at the Lachau road section in Sri Aman, resulting in the death of a 22-year-old indigenous man who was trapped inside the car, while a 23-year-old woman was injured and sent to hospital for treatment.

According to information received, the accident happened at around 8am this morning. The deceased was driving a Perodua Bezza, when for unknown reasons, a head-on collision occurred, causing him to become trapped in the driver’s seat.

Upon receiving the alert, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene and used special equipment to extricate the man from the vehicle. However, after examination by on-site medical personnel, it was confirmed that the man showed no signs of life.

As for the 23-year-old woman who was in the car with him, she had already been rescued by kind members of the public before rescuers arrived. She received preliminary treatment at the scene and was then sent by ambulance to the hospital for further medical care.

The body of the deceased was subsequently handed over to the police, who have launched further investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
