Councilor Leslie Lau Inspects Ocean Park Drainage System Project

(Miri 20th) Miri City Councilor Leslie Lau, accompanied by officials from the Miri City Council Engineering Department, conducted an on-site inspection at Ocean Park First Road Lane and Fourth Road Lane to understand the details of the local drainage system improvement project.

Leslie Lau stated that this project was approved for funding of 150,000 units through the application for the Rural Transformation Plan by Datuk Chen Chaoyao, Deputy Minister (Tourism) of Sarawak's Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry, and Performing Arts.

He said that the project aims to improve the existing drainage system to alleviate drainage issues in the area, especially during the rainy season, and to enhance the living environment of residents.

Leslie Lau pointed out that Datuk Sebastian Ting is concerned about the improvement of community infrastructure and actively applies for funding through the Rural Transformation Plan to support projects such as basic infrastructure to enhance the quality of life for residents.

He emphasized that the improvement of the drainage system can not only reduce flooding issues but also ensure a cleaner and safer community environment, providing a better living environment for residents.

During the recent inspection, Leslie Lau exchanged with representatives from the City Council Engineering Department and listened to briefings on the planning and implementation details of the project.
