Taiwanese singer Angela Zhang recently revealed in an exclusive interview with Chinese media outlet 'People Entertainment' that when she became a singer, her very first album release was promoted in China. Reminiscing about that experience, she emotionally said: “I may have a special love for this land, something very different.”
In the video, Angela Zhang recalls that when she released her debut album 'Over The Rainbow' in 2004, she crossed the strait and came to Beijing for promotion. She expressed how she was impressed by the vastness of the land, marveled at how big the world was. To this day, she still treasures a memory: shooting the cover for her first magazine distributed in China, by a café next to the beautiful scenery of Houhai in Beijing. “That very first meeting made me feel that people here were very welcoming to me, and this connection began from that moment.”
Talking about her thoughts after years of working locally, Angela Zhang believes this connection has been “proven step by step” over time. She confessed that the support this land has given her is not superficial: “I feel that there are especially many people here who support me, and it’s not just something said in passing. They choose to trust how I conduct myself.” This long-term trust and companionship has given her a deep sense of attachment and belonging to this land. #
