From top traffic starlet to iron-willed striker, Dilraba Dilmurat breaks her perfect goddess image for Stephen Chow’s directed film “Kung Fu Women’s Soccer.” She underwent closed training for three months, gained 8kg, cut off her iconic long hair, appeared throughout with minimal makeup, and even tanned her skin dark. Enduring ligament injuries and intense action training, she used a reinvented dedication to portray Emei Team's No.8 'Yulong' on the field.

Popular actress Dilraba Dilmurat recently admitted in an interview that she never imagined one day she would star in a film directed by Stephen Chow. Upon accepting the invitation for the new movie “Kung Fu Women’s Soccer,” she resolved to give her all, seeing it as a major breakthrough and challenge in her acting career. Because she plays a professional female footballer in the film, and to present the most convincing performance for the audience, she proactively requested the crew for comprehensive pre-shoot professional training, hoping to make the action scenes and athlete postures feel even more natural and realistic—proactively breaking stereotypes about female stars.

In order to fully transform into Emei Team's No. 8 striker 'Yulong', Dilraba nearly turned down all her public engagements, locking herself into a 3-month closed intensive training. Under the guidance of professional coaches, she not only strengthened her physical fitness through weight training, but also started from basic football skills—practicing juggling, dribbling, passing, and shooting until they were solid—comprehensively improving her explosiveness and physical confrontation skills. Even more impressive, she proactively challenged the stereotype of female stars always being slim, deliberately gaining around 8kg solely to make her muscle lines and body shape more in line with a real athlete, showing astonishing professionalism.

Apart from changes in physique, Dilraba also made huge sacrifices in appearance and during filming. She ruthlessly cut off her signature long hair, appeared almost barefaced and with minimal makeup throughout, and even deliberately tanned her skin dark to reflect the appearance of someone long exposed to intense outdoor training. In the movie, she personally performed many action scenes such as rolling in the mud and shooting in the rain. In a key “bicycle kick” shot, she was suspended in the air by wires for hours, filming the scene 17 times before nailing it. Even after suffering a knee ligament injury mid-shooting, she gritted her teeth and persisted in completing her scenes, earning the whole crew’s admiration with her professionalism. With the film’s official release on July 11, her dramatically transformed image instantly sparked heated discussion all over the Internet.
