The Director of the National Service Bureau, Dato' Yahya, pointed out that the second series of this year's (series 2/2025) National Service Program will begin selecting trainees through a lottery system. Malaysian citizens born in 2007 are expected to check through the website in April to see if they have been selected to participate in the National Service Program.
He stated that the National Service Bureau will conduct multiple layers of screening before using a computer to draw lots to determine the list of selected trainees.
He added that selected trainees will also receive notification from the National Service Bureau to remind them to undergo a medical checkup before joining to ensure they meet the entry requirements.
For those selected but unable to participate in the program due to further studies or health reasons, they must submit an application to the authorities.
"However, after completing your studies, you still have to return to participate in this program. If you cannot report due to illness, you still need to return for training after your recovery."
Yahya mentioned this at the National Service Program 3.0 media briefing today.
