(US, 22nd) US President Trump said that media tycoon Murdoch, business leaders Ellison and Dell may participate in the TikTok deal.
According to Reuters, Trump revealed in an interview with Fox News on Sunday (September 21) that Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch and his father Rupert Murdoch may get involved.
Trump also mentioned Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and Dell Technologies founder Michael Dell.
However, sources revealed that investment in TikTok's US operations will be made through Fox Corp. The Murdoch family will not invest in a personal capacity, nor will their News Corp (the parent company of The Wall Street Journal and New York Post) directly invest.
Last Friday (19th), after a phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Trump announced that both had approved the framework for TikTok’s US operations.
The White House said on Saturday (20th) that a board will oversee the app’s US operations, with seven seats on the board, six of which will be held by Americans.
