46-year-old Taiwanese native drama actor Fu Zichun sadly passed away from acute leukemia on the 7th, shocking the entertainment industry and countless fans. The last variety show he recorded during his lifetime, the trivia program "Ha! The Truth Is Out!" was officially broadcast on the night of the 9th, making this "onscreen legacy" his final image left to viewers.
Fu Zichun took part in the program's recording on May 12th, wearing a black suit jacket over a white shirt, with his signature warm smile, looking particularly handsome and full of energy. Challenging a trivia show for the first time, he was very lively throughout the recording; in the "OX Stand on Your Side" segment, when faced with the question "Can a father donate blood to his child?", he smoothly scored points with his keen observation and problem-solving skills. In the end, he and director Wu Ziyun both scored 45 points and thrillingly took the championship title, winning the grand prize of a "Pure Gold Bean Agent Certificate."
During the show, Fu Zichun also chatted with host Harlem Yu about the bittersweet realities of filming prime-time dramas. He revealed that scripts are being written and filmed simultaneously, so when they receive scripts, they're "hot off the press." Due to the massive workload, there is often only true rest during the Chinese New Year each year. If a night shoot is set outside, filming may go as late as midnight; indoor shoots start at noon and continue non-stop until work wraps up at midnight.
After the show aired, a large number of saddened netizens flocked to the Public Television YouTube highlights to leave messages in remembrance, mourning, "The number 1 winner is well deserved, we can't bear to part with our favorite actor." Seeing him reveal his overwhelming work schedule, fans also painfully exclaimed: "Staying up late and having a day-night reversal is a huge harm to the body! No wonder he got sick!" #
