In the early hours of Monday, a magnitude 4.8 earthquake struck Gaoxian, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, China, with tremors felt in Chengdu and other areas.
According to the official measurement by the China Earthquake Networks Center, at 2:21 a.m. on the 3rd, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Gaoxian, Yibin City, at a depth of 6 kilometers.
As of now, there have been no reports of casualties, road interruptions, or other incidents. Power, communications, and transportation in the epicenter area remain normal.
After the earthquake, the Sichuan Earthquake Administration immediately initiated a Level IV emergency response.
Subsequently, the China Earthquake Networks Center also detected that at 2:32 a.m., 3:29 a.m., and 3:54 a.m., Gaoxian, Yibin City, experienced a magnitude 3.0 earthquake and two magnitude 3.3 earthquakes, respectively; the 3.0 quake had a focal depth of 10 kilometers.
