(Bandar Seri Begawan, 18th) On World Patient Safety Day, Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) joins the international community in advocating for the theme of “Safe Care for Every Newborn and Every Child.”
According to JPMC, data from the World Health Organization (WHO) highlights the importance of this mission.
In 2022, it is estimated that 2.3 million children died within 28 days of birth. This means about 6,500 newborns die each day, reminding us that access to quality medical services is vital for mothers and newborns worldwide.
In response to this urgent global call, Minister of Health Dato Isham, who also serves as Executive Director of JPMC, emphasized that the center’s responsibilities profoundly reflect the trust parents place in them.
“These numbers are not just statistics; they are an urgent call to action for our steadfast commitment.”
“Our duty to ensure absolute safety is a direct reflection of the trust parents place in us. We are achieving this goal by conducting targeted research, making strategic investments, and cultivating a culture of quality that meets the strictest international standards.”
