Lai Shengming Releases USB Album; Thanksgiving Life Concerts on 11/25 with Two Consecutive Nights of Singing

On the 1st, Lai Shengming released his USB album "Xingyun · Shenghua Zhi Yin" and announced that on November 25th and 26th, he will hold the "Thanksgiving Life" concert for two consecutive nights at the Petaling Jaya Performing Arts Centre (PJPAC). Notably, he will donate all the box office proceeds from the concert to Fo Guang Shan, as a fund for the construction of the new Wenjiao Center temple.

The new album "Xingyun · Shenghua Zhi Yin" is divided into three chapters: Xingyun, Xinghai, and Fanyin. The Xinghai chapter contains his journey of heart and mind over the years. Lai Shengming recalled that after undergoing heart surgery 10 years ago, he deeply realized the preciousness of "getting a second lease on life," which inspired him to write "Yaoshi Rulai" (Medicine Buddha), and thus began his journey of composing Buddhist songs. The album contains a total of 31 works, including both Buddhist songs and pop songs inspired by faith.

The only brand new composition in the album, "A Grateful Life," was composed by Lai Shengming, with lyrics from Master Hsing Yun. He said, “It only took me more than ten minutes to complete the melody, because Master Hsing Yun’s words are very powerful, and because I resonate with them in my heart, it could so quickly become music.”

Debuting nearly 30 years ago, Lai Shengming has released numerous musical works, mainly Buddhist songs. He frankly said: “The inspiration and emotion that faith gives me has become a part of my daily life, so whether it’s a Buddhist song or a pop song, those feelings will naturally flow into the music.”

Regarding the upcoming "Thanksgiving Life" concert, he revealed that his biggest wish is to carry forward the spirit of gratitude: "Instead of endlessly pursuing happiness, it's better to remind myself to always be grateful. Only then will the heart truly be at peace." He also hopes the audience can find healing in his music: "I hope everyone goes home feeling healed." Concert guests include Zhong Zhengyang, Top 4 of the Astro Classic Song Singing Competition 2023 Junior group, and Lin Tanyan, Adult Group Champion of The Voice Family Season 6.

Talking about performing for two nights in a row, Lai Shengming jokingly said: "Maybe I need to fatten myself up a bit first, because I tend to lose weight under stress, so by the time of the concert I'll look just right." He added that he'll keep himself in top form at all times to meet the rehearsals and the actual performance.
