Asia-Pacific Most On-Time Airlines Ranking: Japan Airlines First, Thai AirAsia Fifth

In the 2024 ranking of the most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region, Japan Airlines and All Nippon Airways ranked first and second respectively, with Singapore Airlines in third place.

According to Lianhe Zaobao, aviation analysis company Cirium released its review report on the on-time performance of global airlines and airports over the past year on the 1st. Flights must depart or arrive within 15 minutes of their scheduled time to meet the definition of "on-time"; on-time arrival rate is used to rank airlines, while on-time departure rate is used to rank airports.

The analysis results show that Singapore Airlines had an on-time rate of 78.67% last year, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the previous year, jumping from seventh to third place.

Japan Airlines (80.90%) topped the Asia-Pacific list, with All Nippon Airways ranking second (80.62%); followed by Air New Zealand in fourth place (77.58%) and Thai AirAsia in fifth (77.46%). The sixth to tenth places are Vietnam Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Cathay Pacific, and Australian Qantas Airways, in that order.

Additionally, in the global ranking of the most on-time airlines, the top three are Mexico's AeroMexico (86.70%), Saudi Arabian Airlines (86.35%), and the United States' Delta Air Lines (83.46%).

According to The Straits Times, Cirium tracked 35 million flights globally and utilized 600 global data sources to rank the on-time performance of airlines and airports.

The top three most on-time airports globally are: Saudi Arabia's King Khalid International Airport (86.65%), Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, Peru (84.57%), and Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City (84.04%).
