Dubai has unveiled the largest pure gold bar in the world. Weighing 300.12 kilograms and valued at approximately 115 million ringgit, this gold bar has been officially certified by the Guinness World Records as the world's largest.
Creation of a World Record
This gold bar was meticulously crafted by the UAE Mint, requiring about 8 to 10 hours to complete, and strictly made according to Guinness standards. UAE Mint Deputy General Manager Mohammed Khalifa stated that every step of the production process was meticulously recorded and submitted to the Guinness World Records to ensure compliance with their requirements.
Previously, the record was held by a 250-kilogram gold bar displayed in Japan. The currently exhibited gold bar weighs 300.12 kilograms (661 pounds 10 ounces), breaking this record. The Guinness World Records website indicates that the UAE Mint had planned for this years ago to showcase UAE's historical heritage while expressing gratitude for the support given by the nation.
