(Kuala Lumpur, 26th) Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar stated that the government has agreed to install high-tech CCTV cameras at all maritime enforcement agencies and National Anti-Drug Agency detention centers nationwide.
Anwar wrote on Facebook that this decision was made after the National Governance Cabinet Special Committee meeting yesterday, to ensure the safety of detainees.
He said this is part of the government's strategic measures, in line with the National Anti-Corruption Strategy, to meet the security challenges faced by enforcement agencies and to strengthen the supervision of detention centers.
The Prime Minister also said that the government takes the repeated intrusion of foreign fishing vessels into national waters very seriously, as these incidents not only violate the country's maritime sovereignty but also lead to the outflow of local fishery products, affecting the economy and livelihood of local fishermen.
He said Thursday’s meeting also agreed to resolve issues concerning national waters through strategic cooperation between Malaysia and the relevant countries.
He said the resolutions of the meeting reflect the government’s commitment to ensuring that public services are responsive to national security needs, while also supporting the efficiency, transparency, and effectiveness of governance in the public sector.
