(Miri, 29th) Peimin High School student Lin Rui Ni won 3 gold medals and 2 silver medals at the World Scholars Cup Championship held at Yale University, USA, returning with honors.
Lin Rui Ni advanced through the Malaysia National Regional Competition and Bangkok International Competition to successfully qualify for the global finals, competing alongside more than a thousand elite students from approximately 70 countries, including representative teams from the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, China, New Zealand, Canada, and others. She was the only contestant from Sarawak.
The awards Lin Rui Ni received include Gold in English Individual Writing, Gold in Junior and Senior Challenge, Gold in Team Writing, Silver in Team Junior and Senior Challenge, and Silver in Individual Debate Awards.
In an interview, Lin Rui Ni shared that by interacting with outstanding students from around the world, she felt her growth in knowledge and thinking.
"Especially during the debate sessions with contestants from various countries, my debating skills indirectly improved. It also broadened my horizons, teaching me how to find balance among diverse viewpoints, enhancing my flexibility and adaptability in thinking."
