Hunan TV’s variety show Call Me by Fire 2026 (also known as Call Me by Fire 6) is set to premiere in August. Looking back at last season, the show faced suspension or shelving risks due to its competition format and declining numbers. However, with the great commercial and trending success of sister show Ride the Wind 2026 (also known as Sisters Who Make Waves 7) thanks to its live broadcast model, Call Me by Fire 6 has been fully revived and saw a strong return of numerous sponsors.
According to reports, this season’s core theme will be “Breakthrough Brothers,” and the competition format will undergo a disruptive overhaul by adopting a full live broadcast system. An extravagant draft list featuring 30 stars spanning three generations is going viral online, including Taiwanese stars such as Peter Ho, Yoga Lin, and Show Lo.
Based on various leaked versions circulating at present, fans have grouped the 30 “brothers” into four major categories. The first is the “Screen Legends” group, focusing on classic TVB drama heartthrobs with emotional nostalgia, with likely artists including Dicky Cheung, Leo Ku, Peter Ho, and Benny Chan. This group is seen as a gathering of childhood idols, evoking a wave of era-defining memories.
The second group is the “Stage Kings,” with possible representatives like Steve Chou, Tengger, Jin Zhiwen, Show Lo, and Yoga Lin. When “Godfather of Ballads” Steve Chou faces off with powerhouse vocalist Yoga Lin, the musical quality soars; if Show Lo also competes, his dance skills and performances will make the contest even more captivating.
The third is the “Cross-Border Pioneers,” mainly featuring actors, with expected names such as Song Xiaobao, Wu Yi, Lu Hu, and Jiang Long. The fourth group brings “International Faces,” with invited celebrities including popular Thai star Yin Haoyu.
