(Sri Aman, 31st) – A 75-year-old man who had been missing since Wednesday (July 29th) was found dead on Thursday (July 30th) in the Sinjor Road area, about 1.5 kilometers from his home.
Sri Aman District Police Chief, Superintendent Dennis Bunyam, stated in a press release that the deceased was Madang Imban, from Rumah Anjar longhouse, Pasir Panas Sinjor. He had left home in the wee hours of Wednesday without his family's knowledge.
He stated that the family and villagers had conducted a search, but were unable to find the deceased. A police report was then lodged at 7:45am on Wednesday.
"After receiving the report, the police launched a search and rescue operation at 9:00am, with participation from the Royal Police, Fire Department, Civil Defence Force, and local villagers," he told TVS.
At around 11:10am on Thursday, the search and rescue team found the deceased at the end of Sinjor Road in a grassy area, with the body lying face up on the ground. A preliminary examination by police found no obvious external injuries.
The body was subsequently sent to the forensic department of Sri Aman Hospital II for autopsy to determine the cause of death.
