This year, the Bohai Oilfield, China's largest offshore oilfield, achieved a cumulative oil and gas equivalent output surpassing 40 million tons, setting a new historical record.
On Sunday (December 21), Xinhua News Agency quoted a report from China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) with this information. The Bohai Oilfield is China's highest-producing and largest offshore oilfield, currently operating more than 60 oil and gas fields and over 200 production facilities, with cumulative crude oil production exceeding 600 million tons.
Over the past five years, the Bohai Oilfield's annual oil and gas output has grown by 5% on average, with crude oil increases accounting for nearly 40% of the total growth in China.
A relevant official from CNOOC's Tianjin Branch stated that this year, the Bohai Oilfield accelerated its capacity building, achieving a record-high number of well drilling operations in a single year and efficiently pushing forward several key projects—including the billion-ton class Kenli 10-2 and Bozhong 26-6 oilfields—for rapid construction and production.
