The China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization Energy Cooperation Platform was unveiled, and China will deepen exchanges and cooperation with SCO member states in the energy sector.
According to CCTV News, the unveiling ceremony for the China-SCO Energy Cooperation Platform was held in Beijing on the 2nd.
The main official of China’s National Energy Administration said that energy cooperation is an important component of pragmatic regional cooperation. Since China assumed the rotating presidency of the SCO last July, Chinese enterprises have signed, commenced, or put into operation over 160 projects in the electricity and renewable energy sectors and over 60 projects in the oil and gas sectors in SCO countries, with a total value of about 380 billion yuan (RM 225.067 billion), becoming a strong driving force for regional economic and social development.
The official said that next, the National Energy Administration of China will further leverage the platform, deepen pragmatic exchanges and cooperation with SCO member states in the energy sector, explore new areas of cooperation in clean energy, enhance regional energy governance capacity, create a platform for safe, green, and shared development, and work with concrete actions to promote more fruitful results from China-SCO energy cooperation.
