The Malaysian singer Fu Qiongyin, who has been developing her career in Taiwan, announced her return to Malaysia to take on the role of stage director at a gastro-pub, while her husband, Mr. Chen, will serve as the executive chef of the establishment. The couple, along with their daughter "Xiao Tie Zhi," have returned to Malaysia to start a new life. She mentioned that she chose to stay in Malaysia in the capacity of a stage director to add more depth to her resume. “I hope it's not just about work in front of the stage, as this will greatly help future albums and concerts.”
The Taiwanese Live House gastro-pub “Yin Shi” is opening its first overseas branch in Malaysia. Fu Qiongyin's husband Mr. Chen serves as the executive chef, while Fu Qiongyin takes on the role of stage director, responsible for arranging performances at the pub. Fu Qiongyin revealed that before the opening of the establishment, when she and her husband contacted local manufacturers, merchants, and singers, they were once mistaken as scammers, which left them feeling helpless. “Perhaps some people saw our messages in Chinese and traditional characters and kept asking questions, which led them to mistakenly think we were scammers, and then they blocked us. Some even didn’t read or reply, which made us both laugh and cry.”
Fu Qiongyin humorously noted, “My husband really likes Malaysia. He says he resonates with Malaysia and its food suits his taste. Plus, I want our daughter to live in Malaysia because there's more sunshine here!” She stated that if there are performances in Taiwan, she will travel between Malaysia and Taiwan. She laughed and said that being a mom “is really tiring,” but she’s happy to enter another stage of life and joked that she can’t live without her daughter.
Apart from inviting Li Zhengfa and Hu Huan to perform regularly, she revealed that she has issued a “hero post” to invite talented local singers to join as regular performers. “I recently watched a local music program and have reached out to singers participating in the show; Che Zhili agreed but we haven’t decided on the details yet. There’s also another famous singer we’re in talks with.” She mentioned that there would be special performances by her as well, but not very frequently.
