Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh Tseow Suan hopes that under the guidance of the new head coach Peter Klamovski, the Malayan Tigers can continue to progress.

Hannah Yeoh believes that the Malaysian Football Association has thoroughly reviewed the credentials of this Australian coach to ensure he is qualified to lead the national team.

“I wish the new head coach all the best. Therefore, with the announcement of the new coach and new funding (15 million ringgit), I hope the Malayan Tigers can continue to progress,” she stated on Tuesday.

The Malaysian Football Association announced on Monday that Klamovski would be the new head coach of the national men's football team, and he will officially take up the position on January 1, 2025.

The 46-year-old coach worked under current Tottenham Hotspur manager Postecoglou for over 15 years, leading the Australian national team to win the 2015 Asian Cup, and helping Yokohama Marinos win the J1 League (Japan League) championship in 2019.

Klamovski will replace interim head coach Pau Marti Vicente, the Spaniard currently leading the Malayan Tigers in the ASEAN Football Championship.
