(Miri, 28th) — The Sarawak Oil Palm Group's Foundation announced that the "Healthy Strides Run 2025" will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at 6 a.m. in Marina ParkCity, Miri. The foundation promised to match the registration fee paid by each participant in a "ringgit-for-ringgit" manner, with the full amount donated to Healthy Strides Malaysia to support the treatment and rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy and autism.
Paul Wong Hee Kwong, board member of SOP Foundation, stated that this is not just a running event, but also a show of support and care for special needs children and their families. They hope to raise funds through this event, increase public awareness, and promote a more inclusive and empathetic future for society.
Healthy Strides Malaysia is a therapy center located in Miri that provides world-class, evidence-based intensive therapy for children with cerebral palsy, autism, and other motor or developmental challenges. The center collaborates with The Healthy Strides Foundation, a globally recognized pediatric clinic in Perth, Western Australia, introducing leading research and clinical experience to offer professional rehabilitation services for children in Miri.
Besides fundraising, the Healthy Strides Run also aims to break social prejudices and enhance public understanding of neurodiversity. The event encourages open dialogue, increases social awareness, and promotes acceptance and support for groups with special needs through public participation.
