A Filipino woman recently crawled out slowly from a sewer on the streets of Makati City, behaving eerily like a scene from the Japanese horror movie 'Sadako', frightening passersby and sparking widespread discussion on social media.
According to media reports, the Department of Social Welfare and Development of the Philippines has confirmed that the woman is currently placed in a welfare center, receiving assessment and care.
This incident occurred on Monday (May 26th) afternoon, when a woman dressed in black crawled out of a drainage outlet at the corner of Makati City. A street photographer captured the entire process and uploaded the photos to social media, leading to significant shares and comments.
Many netizens described her movements as 'just like Sadako', leaving a creepy impression.
According to verification by local government officials, the woman is a wanderer known locally as 'Bibe', who often frequents the waterways near the Makati Medical Center.
The police stated that surveillance footage at the scene showed that three people entered the drainage system that day, and authorities are still investigating the identities and intentions of the other individuals.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development of the Philippines said on Thursday that Bibe has been sent to a wanderer assistance processing center in Pasay City.
This incident also alerted President Marcos Jr., who instructed relevant units to take comprehensive action to prevent similar cases from happening again and to ensure that the individual does not end up on the streets again.
