In response to the recent announcement by the United States of arms sales to Taiwan, Mainland China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 5th decided to take countermeasures against 13 US defense firms and 6 senior executives of these companies. The measures include freezing the movable and immovable assets and other types of property of the relevant firms within Mainland China, prohibiting organizations and individuals in Mainland China from engaging in related transactions, cooperation, and other activities with them, and banning related individuals from entering China, effective immediately.
The 'Decision on Countermeasures Against US Defense Firms and Senior Executives' criticizes the recent US announcement of arms sales to Taiwan, stating it seriously violates the One China Principle and the three China-US joint communiqués, seriously interferes in China's internal affairs, and seriously undermines China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The sanctioned US companies include Tredegar Brown Engineering Company, BRINC Drones, Rapid Flight, Red Six Solutions, Shield AI, Synexxus, Inferno Laboratories, Kratos Drone Systems, Havoc AI, Nilos Technology, Cyberlux, Domo Tactical Communications, and Group W.
Additionally, Raytheon Company’s President of Naval Power Strategic Business, Borgonovi, and Vice President Huiber, BEI's land and weapon systems CEO Woodburn, Founder and CEO of United Technology Systems Crawford, President of Data Link Solutions Adler, and BRINC Drones’ Founder and CEO Resnick are also sanctioned. China has frozen their movable and immovable assets and other types of property within its territory; prohibits domestic organizations and individuals from engaging in related transactions, cooperation, and other activities with them; and has decided not to issue visas to them and to deny their entry into China, Hong Kong, and Macau.
Mainland China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized on Thursday that the Taiwan issue is the core of China's core interests, stating, 'Taiwan independence' and peace in the Taiwan Strait are mutually exclusive. The United States insists on 'supporting Taiwan independence with arms,' which cannot sway China's firm resolve to oppose 'Taiwan independence' and achieve national reunification, but will only push Taiwan towards a dangerous military situation. China urges the United States to adhere to the One China Principle and the three China-US joint communiqués, particularly the provisions of the 'August 17 Communiqué,' to fulfill US leaders' promise of not supporting 'Taiwan independence,' and to immediately stop arming Taiwan and stop condoning and supporting 'Taiwan independence' forces to 'seek independence through arms.'
