The development of humanoid robots in China has taken another step forward. On the 2nd, Shanghai JingShi Technology unveiled the world's first full-sized humanoid robot, 'Bolt,' achieving a peak speed of 10 meters per second—equivalent to completing 100 meters in 10 seconds—setting a new speed record for full-sized humanoid robots.
JingShi Technology pointed out that Bolt is 175cm tall and weighs 75kg. It is named in tribute to the sprint legend 'Lightning Bolt.' Bolt's peak running speed is 10 meters per second, breaking the world record for full-sized robots. By comparison, Bolt's (the human athlete's) world record for the 100m dash is 9.58 seconds.
In a short video released by JingShi Technology, Bolt races against the company founder Wang Hongtao, handily defeating a human, and Bolt's strides remain stable with its speed continuously increasing.
JingShi Technology stated that the company's goal is to build cyber athletes that surpass the limits of biology and humanity, and they will continue to announce their plans and competitions for the year.
Previously, the company's quadruped robot 'Panther II' set a running speed of 10.3 meters per second, becoming the fastest quadruped robot in all of Asia.
