(Bandar Seri Begawan, 26th) His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei arrived in Malaysia yesterday afternoon for a state visit and to attend the 26th Annual Leaders’ Consultation between Brunei and Malaysia.
According to a press release from the Prime Minister’s Office, accompanying His Majesty was Prince Abdul Mateen.
Royal family members bid farewell to His Majesty at the Rimba Sultan’s Hangar.
Others present included palace ministers, the Speaker of the Legislative Council, Cabinet ministers, Privy Council members, deputy ministers, the Inspector General of Police, Director of the Royal Brunei Police Force, and Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Upon arrival at the Subang Air Force Base in Malaysia, His Majesty was warmly welcomed by Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, the Prince of Johor Tunku Idris Iskandar, Malaysian Communications Minister Dato’ Ahmad Fahmi, and Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Dato’ Mohd Aini Atan.
Also present to welcome the Sultan were Brunei’s Second Minister of Foreign Affairs Dato’ Erywan and Brunei High Commissioner to Malaysia Brigadier General Dato’ Mahmud.
