According to French Radio citing foreign media reports, the United States announced on the 26th local time that it will extend tariff exemptions on certain Chinese industrial and medical products for one year, including equipment used for manufacturing solar products. This is part of the US-China trade truce agreement reached earlier this month.
During his first term, US President Trump imposed "Section 301" tariffs due to China's intellectual property practices. These exemptions have previously been extended multiple times and were originally set to expire on November 29.
The US Trade Representative's Office stated in a press release: "This extension of exemptions is a follow-up to the historic trade and economic agreement reached by President Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping announced by the White House on November 1, 2025."
This measure covers 14 categories of equipment related to the manufacturing of solar products, as well as 164 categories of various industrial and medical products, including electric motors, blood pressure monitoring devices, pump components, automotive air compressors, and printed circuit boards, among others.
