Recently, various regions in China have experienced extreme weather such as heavy rain and strong winds, leading to consecutive natural disasters including floods and mudslides. In the early hours of the 23rd, a sudden mountain flood occurred in Longsheng County, Guilin, Guangxi. According to a report from Xinhua News Agency on the 29th, it was learned from the Longsheng Autonomous County Publicity Department that after six days of continuous rescue efforts, around 2:30 PM on May 28th, the 8th missing person from the Longsheng mountain flood disaster was found in the river, 25 kilometers downstream from Sanshe Village.
In the early hours of the 29th, DNA comparison and identification were completed. As of now, all the missing persons from the Longsheng mountain flood disaster have been found and confirmed dead.
On the early morning of the 23rd, a sudden mountain flood disaster occurred in Sanshe Village, Sishui Township, Longsheng County, affecting 8 missing persons.
Previous reports indicated that as of the 25th, the number of deaths caused by the Longsheng County mountain flood had risen to 5, with 3 people still missing. Jiang Wenming, a member of the Standing Committee of the Longsheng County Committee, stated that on the 24th, local rescue forces were further increased, involving over 930 people including county and township party members, militia, and citizens in the search and rescue operations. Led by government officials, the team was divided into four groups to conduct a thorough search along about 25 kilometers of riverbanks downstream.
