(Bandar Seri Begawan, 20th) The Bandar Seri Begawan Municipal Council, through its enforcement unit, recently conducted a cleanliness and hygiene as well as the Miscellaneous Offences Act 2021 (Chapter 30) mobile enforcement awareness seminar for the Department of Government Secondary Schools.
This activity is one of the council's ongoing efforts to raise awareness about cleanliness and hygiene, aiming to educate the younger generation to share the responsibility of keeping their surroundings clean, orderly, and comfortable.
Schools participating in this series of awareness seminars include Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam Secondary School, Menglait Secondary School, and Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien College.
The seminar emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness from religious, community values, and national responsibility perspectives. Students also learned about the legal regulations regarding littering in public places, as well as the enforcement actions that can be taken against any offenders.
Through this program, the Municipal Council hopes to cultivate awareness of cleanliness from students' school years, thus nurturing a generation that is more disciplined, responsible, and concerned about sustainable environmental development.
