(Bandar Seri Begawan, 28th) The awards ceremony for the 7th National On-the-Spot Primary School Chinese Creative Writing Competition has been scheduled for November 7, 2025 (Friday) at 10:00 a.m., and will take place grandly at the Tan Kah Hing & Spouse Hall of Fuzhou Shi Yi Building in Brunei.
To prepare for this major Chinese education event, the Brunei Fuzhou Shi Yi Association and the Kuala Belait Fuzhou Association’s directors and education committee members held a joint meeting yesterday. The meeting was attended by Dr. Lau Swee Chuan, President of the Brunei Fuzhou Shi Yi Association, Secretary-General Lau Khun Cheong, Director of Cultural and Educational Affairs Lim Bin Li, Deputy Director Cheong Hui Fong, Women’s Group Leader Fang Siu Fei, along with Kuala Belait Fuzhou Association President Wong Lim Ming, Vice Presidents Fong Ching Ping, Fong Li Dong, Lau Kuey Sian, Chi Siu Hua, and Chan Siu Yuk. Together, they discussed the ceremony details.
According to the meeting’s resolutions, the invited guests for this year’s award ceremony will include the guest of honor, advisors, directors, board members and teachers from Brunei’s eight Chinese schools, sponsors, participating students, and parents. It is estimated that about 130 people will gather to jointly witness the proud moments of the outstanding students.
The 7th National On-the-Spot Primary School Creative Writing Competition was successfully held in June this year. The event received an overwhelming response, attracting 418 students from schools across the country to actively sign up and participate—a record number, fully demonstrating Bruneian primary students’ passion and talent for creative writing in Chinese.
