(Bandar Seri Begawan, 3rd) The Royal Brunei Police Force (PPDB) and the Royal Customs and Excise Department (JKED) recently conducted a joint enforcement operation, uncovering an unauthorized entertainment event in the Mentiri residential area and launching an investigation under the Public Entertainment Act (Chapter 181).
Enforcement officers found that an apartment unit in Kampong Perpindahan Mentiri was hosting a live band performance without the required approval from relevant authorities. During the operation, authorities confiscated several musical instruments and impounded a vehicle suspected to be linked to contraband found at the scene. The contraband and the vehicle have been handed over to the Royal Customs and Excise Department for further processing.
The police remind the public that any public entertainment event must first be approved by the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with current laws. Meanwhile, the police urge the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement, and to call the police emergency hotline 993 to provide information if they discover any activities threatening public safety and order.
