Ukraine's National News Agency (Ukrinform) on Saturday (October 4) quoted a senior Ukrainian intelligence official as saying that China is providing intelligence to Russia, helping Moscow launch more effective missile attacks within Ukrainian territory.
According to Reuters, Oleh Alexandrov, an official from Ukraine's Foreign Intelligence Service, said in an interview with Ukrinform that the Chinese side is passing satellite intelligence to Russia to help identify strike targets, including facilities with foreign investment.
Alexandrov said there is evidence indicating that Russia and China are engaged in a high level of cooperation regarding satellite reconnaissance over Ukrainian territory, with the aim of identifying and further locking in on strategic targets to carry out attacks. "As we have seen in recent months, these targets may belong to foreign-invested enterprises."
Ukrainian President Zelensky and local officials previously revealed that in August this year, Russia launched a missile attack on Ukraine's western Zakarpattia region, hitting a home appliance factory invested in by an American company and injuring 15 people.
Back in April this year, Zelensky accused China of providing weapons to Russia, saying that intelligence gathered by Ukraine shows China has already begun producing weapons within Russian territory.
