(Kuching, 6th) Timuran Kembangan Sdn Bhd yesterday hosted a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) at Demak Laut.
The delegation was led by MBKS/Apartment Recycling Group Chairperson Kiing Sie Ying.
Commenting on the visit, Kiing Sie Ying stated that this is an initiative to strengthen interactions and exchanges with local industry players, and it also helps to gain deeper insights into sustainable industrial practices.
She noted that Timuran Kembangan focuses on the collection and processing of used edible and industrial oils, making significant contributions to environmental protection and responsible waste management.
“We were here for a courtesy visit and also toured the company’s factory,” she told Suara Sarawak.
Upon arrival, the delegation was received by the company’s Managing Director, Johnny Ting Su King.
During the visit, Johnny Ting Su King gave the group a detailed explanation of the company’s operational processes and daily management.
Kiing Sie Ying pointed out that the company is one of the pioneers in this sector in the region, having developed professional capabilities and infrastructure at an early stage.
“Their efforts not only reduce environmental pollution, but also drive the development of a circular economy by transforming waste materials into reusable resources.”
She stated that this aligns with Sarawak’s vision towards a greener and more sustainable industrial future, including the “waste-to-resource” initiative and low-carbon development strategy.
On the other hand, Johnny Ting Su King expressed his gratitude for the visit.
“We are very grateful for the delegation’s visit and hope this can foster a more comprehensive two-way cooperative relationship,” he said.
He also hopes that MBKS will, in the future, provide more opportunities and priority consideration for local enterprises to participate in recycling-related collaborations.
