The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Chinese President Xi Jinping, at the invitation of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim, will embark on a state visit to Malaysia from the 15th to the 17th, lasting for 3 days.
The Ministry's statement mentioned that Xi Jinping will attend the state visit welcome ceremony held at the national palace, followed by an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, who will then host a state banquet for Xi Jinping and his delegation.
Accompanied by several Chinese ministers and senior officials, Xi Jinping will meet with Prime Minister Dato' Seri Anwar to discuss bilateral cooperation topics and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
"The leaders of the two countries will then witness the exchange of Memoranda of Understanding, agreements, and diplomatic notes between Malaysia and China."
Anwar will also host a dinner for Xi Jinping at the Prime Minister's official residence in Putrajaya.
This visit is part of Xi Jinping's series of state visits in 2025, during which he will also visit Vietnam and Cambodia.
The last state visit by Xi Jinping to Malaysia was in 2013, during which the two countries upgraded their diplomatic relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on May 31, 1974, Malaysia and China have maintained close bilateral relationships, celebrating the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations last year.
Since 2009, China has been Malaysia's largest trading partner for 16 consecutive years, with bilateral trade reaching 484.12 billion Malaysian Ringgit last year, accounting for 16.8% of Malaysia's global trade.
As the rotating chair of ASEAN and the country coordinating ASEAN-China dialogue relations, Malaysia will continue to strive to推进建设一个全面的策略伙伴关系 between ASEAN and China.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that efforts will continue to achieve this goal through dialogue, mutual trust, and initiatives that benefit both the people of ASEAN and China.
