Merz Visits Unitree Robotics in Hangzhou and Leaves a Message at the Forbidden City: Wishing This Year to Be a Year of Sino-German Cooperation and Development

German Chancellor Merz arrived in Hangzhou to continue his visit to China, touring companies such as Unitree Robotics. On the morning of the 26th, he visited the Forbidden City in Beijing, and wrote in the guest book: May we forge ahead like a horse in the Year of the Horse, with the spirit of the dragon horse. May this year become a year of Sino-German cooperation and development.

According to the new media outlet “Yuyuan Tantian” under CCTV, Merz and his accompanying delegation had lunch with local entrepreneurs in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. A group photo taken before the meal revealed quite a bit of information. The ten Chinese companies involved in the photo were: Chint Group, Geely Holding, Alibaba, Rongsheng Petrochemical, Sanhua Holding, Leapmotor, Linde Asia-Pacific Engineering, Unitree Robotics, Strong Brain Technology, and Lingban Technology.

Unitree Robotics chairman Wang Xingxing said in an interview that he felt deeply honored. He noted that this event was a window to establish more cooperation with German enterprises, as well as an opportunity for joint global promotion of the intelligent robotics industry. The German market has tremendous potential, and he believes that the good development momentum of the intelligent robotics and AI industries will have a very positive impact on industry growth and all of humanity.

German Chancellor Merz arrived in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, on the 26th to continue his trip to China. According to Chinese media reports, after disembarking from his plane, Merz took a Hongqi car to his scheduled activities. That afternoon, Merz and his delegation, during their visit to China, toured Unitree Robotics in Hangzhou. Upon arrival, Unitree Robotics founder Wang Xingxing approached to greet him with a handshake. During the visit, Merz interacted with a humanoid robot by shaking hands and spinning in circles together, creating a relaxed atmosphere. On site, Merz watched a performance of the Spring Festival Gala act "Wu Bot" as well as a robot combat demonstration, experiencing the allure of cutting-edge Chinese technology up close.

Merz is on an official visit to China from the 25th to the 26th, accompanied by senior executives from about 30 leading German companies in sectors such as automotive, chemicals, biopharmaceuticals, machinery manufacturing, and the circular economy, fully demonstrating Germany's strong willingness to deepen pragmatic cooperation with China.

According to Xinhua News Agency, Hangzhou is the second stop of Merz's visit to China.
