(Bandar Seri Begawan, 27th) Royal Brunei Airlines recently concluded its "One Borneo" roadshow held in Chennai, Madurai, and Salem.
This roadshow, jointly organized by Brunei Tourism Board, Sabah Tourism Board, and Sarawak Tourism Board, aimed to showcase Borneo's rich natural wonders, vibrant culture, and unique travel experiences to key Indian travel industry partners. The roadshow and delegation were led by Royal Brunei Airlines Market Manager, Alirahim, taking participants on a glimpse of Borneo's extraordinary adventures.
The "One Borneo" delegation, comprising representatives from tourism boards, travel agencies, and the hotel industry, visited all three cities and interacted with over 300 travel agencies and industry stakeholders. Each city hosted a full day of events, including destination presentations, B2B meetings, and networking opportunities to build new partnerships and expand tourism prospects. At present, many travel agencies have already received group booking inquiries for Borneo tours from the Indian market.
"The 'One Borneo' roadshow has strengthened our influence in the Indian market and opened doors for new collaborations," said Royal Brunei Airlines CEO Captain Sabirin. "We are delighted to see the strong interest and positive response from tourism partners in Chennai, Madurai, and Salem. This initiative marks the beginning of deeper ties between India and Borneo."
Sabah Tourism Board CEO Noredah Othman also attended the event as part of the delegation and stressed the importance of this collaboration: "India is a new market we are eager to explore. I sincerely thank Royal Brunei Airlines for taking the lead in uniting all the tourism boards to jointly promote Borneo. This partnership is the right way to expand into the Indian market, and we are excited to see it create new opportunities for travelers and our industry partners. We look forward to more Indian visitors coming to explore the charms of Sabah and Borneo."
The roadshow also highlighted Royal Brunei Airlines' direct flights from Chennai to Brunei, operated three times per week by Airbus A320 NEO, providing seamless connections to Sabah and Sarawak.
