Trump: If Iran Wants to Negotiate, They Can Call Us

(US, 27th) US President Trump stated on the 26th that if Iran wishes to end the hostilities between the two countries through negotiation, they can take the initiative to contact the US.

In an interview with Fox News Channel, Trump said, “I hope Iran is a bit smarter.” He said: “If they want to talk, they can come find us, or give us a call.”

Trump said he believes the Iran war will end soon and that the US will achieve victory.

On the 25th, Trump canceled the US delegation's trip to Islamabad, Pakistan's capital, for a "meeting with the Iranian side." US media believes that the negotiation deadlock between the US and Iran indicates that the two sides have serious disagreements on key issues.

In response, Trump said the reason was because the talks in Islamabad involved too much travel and expense, and Iran’s latest peace proposal was not good enough for him.

Iran Proposes Three-Stage Negotiation Framework

Additionally, Lebanese “Square” TV reported in the early hours of the 27th that Iran has put forward a three-stage negotiation framework to the mediators, stating that talks could resume if the US accepts the proposal.

The first stage of Iran’s negotiation framework focuses on ending US and Israeli aggression and ensuring that hostilities do not reignite in Iran and Lebanon. In this stage, Iran will not discuss other topics.

If consensus is reached in the first stage, talks will enter the second stage, focusing on the management of the Strait of Hormuz. Iran plans to coordinate with Oman to promote the establishment of a new legal framework for managing affairs of this strategic waterway.

The third stage will involve Iran's nuclear program. The report says Iran will only be prepared to discuss its nuclear program after the first two stages have reached agreement.
