Hong Kong music diva Sammi Cheng was originally scheduled to hold three consecutive shows of the ‘You & Mi Sammi Cheng Concert 2026 Asia Tour Final’ at the Kai Tak Sports Park starting this Friday. However, on the 6th, the organizers suddenly announced that due to a malfunction in stage components causing safety concerns, the concert would be postponed. Although Sammi Cheng was shocked by the news, she decided to prioritize everyone's safety by instead hosting three days of free ‘Thank You Gatherings,’ and the formal concerts will be rescheduled.
According to Sing Pao Daily’s report, the concert’s stage lighting and audio engineering encountered an issue of “structure bending,” causing it to fail the government’s inspection and approval, and thus not being granted a performance license. The company responsible for this project, Hing Ming Asia, is an established firm with extensive experience, but records show that this was their first time formally undertaking a concert at Kai Tak Sports Park.

However, his most closely watched role was as Sammi Cheng’s manager since 2000, working alongside her for 26 years. Two years ago, Kwok Kai Wah was hospitalized for a stroke, fortunately recovering safely and returning to work early last year. However, perhaps realizing his health was no longer as robust, he has now decided to retire early and resign as Sammi Cheng’s manager.
