Regarding the tariff war initiated by the United States, the statement noted the relevant trade and investment restriction measures, reiterating their commitment to maintaining a multilateral trading system centered on the World Trade Organization, based on rules that are open, transparent, inclusive, and non-discriminatory. They aim to promote economic globalization towards a more open, inclusive, mutually beneficial, balanced, and win-win direction. The two parties agreed to actively explore pilot models for cross-border economic cooperation zones and jointly build a safe and stable industrial and supply chain.
Concerning the South China Sea disputes, the statement mentioned that both sides engaged in in-depth and candid exchanges on maritime issues, emphasizing better management and proactive resolution of maritime differences, and jointly maintaining peace and stability in the South China Sea. They will refrain from actions that complicate the situation or escalate disputes.
