(Tehran, June 3) Iranian media have revealed that Iran has submitted a 14-point plan through a Pakistani mediator to the US side, in response to the US proposal to end the war. The relevant clauses require the US to withdraw troops from areas surrounding Iran, as well as to lift maritime blockades and sanctions.
The semi-official Tasnim News Agency reported on Saturday (May 2) that Iran’s proposal is meant as a response to the nine-point US proposal, with a focus on ending the war. Tehran is waiting for the US to respond to this plan.
According to reports, the US has proposed a two-month ceasefire, whereas Iran emphasizes that the issue should be resolved within 30 days, and that efforts should focus on ending the war instead of simply extending the ceasefire period.
Reports say Iran’s proposal includes guarantees of no military action being taken, withdrawal of US troops from areas surrounding Iran, lifting of maritime blockades and sanctions, unfreezing of Iranian assets, payment of compensation, and ending hostile actions on multiple fronts including Lebanon.

The plan also includes a framework involving the Strait of Hormuz.
According to Iranian media, on April 30, Iran conveyed its latest negotiation plan to the US via Pakistan. The US has yet to reveal details of Iran’s plan, but US President Trump said earlier on Saturday that he is not satisfied with Iran’s new proposal.
However, he also emphasized that the state of war cannot continue indefinitely, and he prefers not to keep fighting.
