The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement on the 2nd, indicating that they have begun striking Hezbollah targets within Lebanon in response to Hezbollah firing rockets at Israel.
The statement said that the IDF conducted “precise” strikes on several senior Hezbollah officials in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, and targeted a key Hezbollah member in southern Lebanon.
Earlier, Hezbollah launched an attack on an Israeli missile defense base near Haifa.
In a statement, Hezbollah said: “We launched rockets and drones at a missile defense base south of Haifa.”
This is Hezbollah’s first attack on Israel since the ceasefire agreement reached with Israel in November 2024.
Continuing Resistance Against U.S. and Israeli Aggression
On March 1st, Lebanese Hezbollah leader Qassem stated that Hezbollah would continue to resist aggression by the United States and Israel.
In his statement, Qassem said that Hezbollah would always hold its positions and fulfill the “responsibility to resist aggression.”
Qassem accused the United States and Israel of committing “criminal and brutal aggression” against Khamenei and other Iranian officials and civilians, calling it a “stain on the conscience of humanity.”
