A foreign man snatched a police motorcycle at a temple and escaped, suddenly stopping on a bridge and jumping into the river, after which he disappeared without a trace. Rescue personnel have launched search operations in the relevant waters.
According to comprehensive Thai media reports, this incident occurred on Monday, March 16th, on the Ping River in Chiang Mai. The foreign suspect stole a police motorcycle at Suan Dok Temple and engaged in an intense pursuit with the police.
It is reported that the suspect then rode the motorcycle towards the Fifth District Bridge on Mahidol Road, in Pa Daet area. Upon reaching the bridge, he abandoned the motorcycle at the roadside and jumped into the river, disappearing without a trace.
The police and rescue team conducted a search at the scene for over an hour, but were unable to locate the man. However, police suspect that the man may still be hiding in the nearby area, and the search efforts are still ongoing. At present, police have not yet identified the true identity of the foreign national, nor have they disclosed the motive for his motorcycle theft.
